SalarioBox

Terms of use

The rules for using SalarioBox. Estimates only. Not tax, legal or accounting advice.

These terms govern use of portugalnetpay.com and calculasalario.pt, published by SalarioBox. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not, do not use the site. They were last reviewed on 2026-09-29.

Not advice, and not an official result

Every figure is an educational estimate. Official payslips use the Tax Authority withholding tables and your real situation. A tax return uses the IRS Code, your household, your deductions and the year's forms. Social security contributions use the contributory code and the declarations on Segurança Social Direta. Nothing here is tax, legal or accounting advice, and nothing here is a statement by the Autoridade Tributária or the Instituto da Segurança Social.

The calculators leave out rules on purpose. The employee tool does not apply the specific-deduction floor, the dependant tax credit, or the minimum existence. The freelancer tool does not model the first-year deferral of contributions or the 15 percent expense top-up. The guides say so in more detail. You are responsible for what you do with a number you read here, including a decision to change jobs, to invoice, or to file.

Using the site

You may use the calculators and read the guides for your own private, non-commercial use. You may link to a page. You may not copy the guides onto another site, present the estimates as your own professional advice, scrape the site in a way that degrades it, or try to break the hosting. The text, the layout and the code are published by the author. Third-party marks, including Google, remain their owners'.

The site may show Google ads if you have allowed them. Ads are not an endorsement of the advertiser, and an advertiser is not a source for the tax figures. The ads.txt file identifies the publisher ca-pub-5355338650267313.

Liability

The site is provided as it is, without a warranty that a figure is complete, current or fit for your decision. To the extent Portuguese law allows, the publisher of SalarioBox is not liable for loss of income, tax, interest, penalties or decisions you take from an estimate. Mandatory consumer rights are not excluded. If you are a consumer in Portugal, the mandatory rules of Portuguese law still apply, and nothing here is a waiver of them.

These terms are governed by Portuguese law. The courts of Portugal have jurisdiction, without prejudice to a consumer's right to use the courts of their place of residence where that right is mandatory.

Frequently asked questions

Can I quote a paragraph?

A short quotation with a link back is fine. Republishing a guide is not.

What if a law changes?

The statute wins as soon as it is in force. The pages are updated when they are reviewed, not on the morning a diploma is published.
